CHIANGMAI, Nov 29 (TNA) - Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat said he is ready to hold talks with the anti-government protesters, the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), to end the political crisis but there must not be any pre-condition for the talks.
Mr. Somchai told reporters at his residence in Chiang Mai that he has instructed the agencies concerned to return Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports using transparent measures.
He said the country is now suffering huge damage and is becoming isolated from the international community.
The prime minister said he is ready to hold talks with the PAD leaders, but he would not resign or dissolve the Parliament.
Meanwhile, one PAD core leader Somsak Kosaisuk said the coalition would not agree to talks with the prime minister until he submits his resignation.
He said that the PAD did not give much importance to the emergency decree at the two airports announced by the prime minister, saying it was just "a paper having ink stains."
The PAD leaders are considering to put more pressure against the government and may dispatch their followers to other places. (TNA)
