Pro-government UDD to rally in Bangkok on Sunday
BANGKOK, Nov 29 (TNA) - The pro-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) or the 'Red Shirt' group plan a large gathering at Sanam Luang to give moral support to the police and protest against coup attempt, according to Veera Musigapong,  a host of the "Truth Today" TV political talk show broadcast on the state run NBT.

Mr. Veera and two other hosts, Jatuporn Prompand, a People Power Party MP and Korkaew Pikulthong , jointly told a press conference from Saturday at 4 pm onward, a pro-government rally will  take place at Sanam Luang.

The Truth Today host  said his group felt that the Constitution Court's urgency to finalise the People Power party (PPP) dissolution case on Tuesday discouraged the police from dispersing the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) demonstrators who seized Government House, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airport.

He wanted the gathering to give moral support to the police.

Mr., Veera said that fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will not make a speech by telephone to the UDD gathering on Sunday and the UDD would not march to confront the PAD at Suvarnabhumi on Sunday.

However, the veteran politician said he could not tell how long the rally would last as it would depend on the situation.

The Constitution Court has ordered the People Power Party, Chart Thai Party and Matchimatipataya Parties to deliver their closing statement in party-dissolution case on Tuesday (December 2). (TNA)
